GAMING INDUSTRY IN PAKISTAN

PAKISTAN'S GAMING INDUSTRY, IS IT REALLY AN EMERGING MARKET?

By Mudassir Shah

We leave the era where games are just physics. In this era of technology, games, and education completely offset digital. Talking about the game industry, there are games that people like to play all day instead of playing football, cricket, or any other outdoor game. Age limits no longer exist in digital games. Electronic art, Nintendo, Sony Interactive Entertainment, and many other game developers followed. These game companies are developing game titles for everyone of all ages, whether children, adults, or even for older audiences.

Games for players around the world.

Some famous games are Fortis, Publ, Grand Theft Auto, Tekken DotA, Halo, Compperstrike, Call of Duty, Apex Legend, and more. There are many games for kids. People are not limited to interesting games. Computer games have become many occupations around the world. The world players have an international conference to compete.

E-Sports is one of the foundations to occupy a global tournament. Among these tournaments, players have a paid tournament to make money with special abilities. The game can be recognized worldwide through game technology. He did the job and the joy of the work was pepper.

Pakistanis have become interested in the gambling industry. Several players from Pakistan participated in professional competitions and won. The most popular hobbies are first-person and third-person shooters. Gambling has opened up many ways of making money for young people. Tournaments are a major source. They also won through streaming YouTube.

Pakistan has famous teams as the rest of the countries. Freestyle, Team I8, Team Tuf, Team Bablu, F4 Gaming, Golden Star, Portal Esports, Hellers HR, and HFD team are part of the famous teams. They participate in different and deserved games by playing their games. There are mobile players and PC players. Pakistan has a long way to go to the game awareness and reach the highest level. We need to promote our players.

Why is Pakistan behind? While other countries minting money in a $ 180 billion industry.  According to the International Game Developers Association (IGDA), Pakistan generates up to $25 million in revenue from its game industry every year. Dawn estimates that in 2019, more than 8,000 professionals work in video game development. However, the development of video games has not received the attention it deserves, despite having produced many famous titles from game development studios around the world.

Less professional game studios:

Previously, projects, assets, and content have been acquired by companies such as Sega, THQ, Zynga, Pocket Gems, Disney Interactive, Eidos Interactive, and more. Donated to Pakistani film studios. However, Pakistani game development studios cannot release their own AA/AAA level games.

Government Initiative:

Fawad Chaudhry, in November 2020, Minister of Science and Technology, introduced an animated game certification program and video games for young people to bring Pakistan's talent into the industry of MultuBillion Dollar. But I haven't noticed it yet. E-Sports are not considered an official Pakistani sport until recently. The absence of game development initiatives like studios games and game developers is the main reason to prevent good content lack and game development in Pakistan. In Pakistan, we strive to provide a better gaming experience, but if the game industry gets the support that it deserves, we will not lose games.

Gaming Education:

Universities and higher education institutions in Pakistan are basically aimed at personal technology development. Students who lack the right flexible technology in the job market are often disappointed. Instructors with more education than industry background often lack up-to-date knowledge of current trends, requirements, and the latest industry standards, which makes it impossible for them to model for their students in a way that is compatible with the industry.

Since Pakistan's economic revival is based on such different venues to explore and bring the investments in Pakistan to help boost the economy.
